Occupy Bus
Supporting the logistics of the Occupy movement
Occupy Bus FAQ
How It Works
The call to Occupy!
Occupy bus has been created as a way to support the logistics of the occupation. An experiment unto itself, we're here to offer rides to anyone that wants to get to a camp but can't do it on their own. By enabling people to pool together their resources, as well as letting others donate seats, we're offering a way to make sure the movement keeps growing.
We're also able to deliver supplies to the camps as needed. And occupiers needing relief will be offered free rides home on any incoming buses.
We're taking reservations from any city, and as soon as we have enough along a route to run a bus, we'll announce the date giving enough time to prepare. Then we'll coordinate with the camps to let them know that a bus is coming in.
Pricing is all set to as close to break even as possible but we will donate any and all profit to the camps that confirm the buses.
Reservations
How do I sign up?
Choose your state and city and the number of seats you would like and walk through our safe and secure payment process to complete your reservation. Or call us toll-free at 855 RALLY BUS (725-5928) to reseve over the phone.
Then what?
We email you as soon as we reach the minimum number of reservations needed. You can always check your Trip page for the live status of your route and city.
The Occupation is getting close...
We'll send you a final email with the details on your bus and introduce you to our drivers one or two days before the event.
How do multiple bus city reservations work?
Event cities with high demand may receive multiple buses. In addition to the trip being confirmed as a stop, each bus must meet a published minimum required number of reservations before it is confirmed. As always, if you reserve and we are not able to confirm your bus, you will be notified and not charged.
Occupation Day
What do I do on the day of?
Check the Trip pages for the full itinerary. Departure times are the estimated time the bus will leave from your assigned location.
What kind of buses do you use?
We use luxury motor coaches that have bathrooms, TVs, DVDs, and plenty of storage room. Check out our Bus page for pictures.
What can I bring on the bus
Everything you'll need to occupy: there's plenty of room on the bus so unless you're bringing a couch, you'll be fine.
Where is my ticket to get on the bus?
Your ID is your ticket. The bus captain and driver will have a list of the passengers. The name listed will be the one on the credit card you use. As always, you should be carrying a photo ID (driver's license, student ID, library card). If someone else reserved for you, just give their name to get on the bus. Passengers who bought together but are arriving separately should meet there party outside the bus to avoid confusion.
